Building a Huge List with Article Marketing

By: Gen Wright

This is a very common way of thinking and I'm sure it'll flash across your mind sooner or later. The problem I have with this thinking is that it stops you from building a list for your Internet Business.

You think that you need a huge list is needed to make money a decent amount of money, and when you realize that it's not so easy to acquire a huge list that's profitable, you simply stop trying.

Yet, I'm here to tell you that this is a common myth and it's simply not true. I've seen a case study where $15,000 is made from a list of 1,236 list members. That's just a little over a thousand subscribers. Can you build a list of 10,000? For a start, maybe not. But can you build a list of 1,236 members? I'm sure anyone can build a list of 1,236 members.

Set up a simple squeeze page, drive some traffic to your website, and collect as many subscribers as you can. If buying clicks is not an option for you, then perhaps trying something that is almost risk free (like article marketing) may be a good idea. Write and submit five articles a week, and do this consistently for a few weeks. Article marketing, unlike other traffic methods, usually starts off a bit slow. But before long, the traffic from the articles will start to snow ball. It wouldn't be too long before you start seeing a constant stream of subscribers on a daily basis.

How can anyone sell $15,000 worth of products to such a small list? Well, this is only possible if the members of the list are -

  1. Well informed about the products and services on the Internet

  2. Has a relationship with the list owner

  3. Purchases a big ticket item

In this case, the big ticket item costs $1,000. So the list owner only has to sell 15 copies to gross $15,000. That's the gross amount. As the list owner is selling as an affiliate, his take is closer to $7,500. That's still a substantial amount just by sending one email.

So you see, you don't need a huge list to make decent money online. But think about the possibilities. If you can gross $15,000 with a list of 1,236, how much could you make if you have a list of 10,000, 50,000 or even 100,000.

Don't live in the illusion that you need a huge list to make some decent income online. After all, even the professionals need to have that first website visitor, get that first opt-in, and make the first sale. That's where it all begins. So why not start building a list today?
