Iphone For The Not so Dummies
| By: Consumer-Electronics Superstore For an iPhone, or iTouch, to work properly you need a few things. Most importantly you will need a charger and headphones. Though both the iPhone and the iTouch come with headphones, they are easily lost, and some people prefer the actual in-ear earphones. The iPod headphones tend to sit inside the ear, which produces good sound quality, however, does not help to keep the headphones in you ear. I would recommend that if you are going to get headphones, get either over-ear headphones or in-ear earphones. As for chargers, it is important to have one that fits your lifestyle. VERY IMPORTANT: it is well-known that charging your iPhone or iTouch every night will kill your battery. The more you charge the battery when it is unnecessary, the weaker the battery will get. After awhile, it will get to a point where you cannot go an entire day without a charge. Nonetheless, you will still need an iPhone/iTouch charger for the house. One should come with your new purchase, but if you’re picking up a used product you should be able to find a charger fairly cheap online or at your local market or gas station. What is helpful? Though it is nice to have a charger for home use, you will likely also want one for your car as well. I would not recommend getting just a car charger for your iPhone or iTouch; instead why not look into a car charger packaged with an FM transmitter? This way you can enjoy your music in your car while the iPhone is charging. If you are using the iPhone there are also Fm transmitters/chargers that will hook the phone up to your car stereo system. This way when you receive a call the music will stop and the phone call will go through your car speakers. All of this is happening while your iPhone/iTouch is being charged. Another helpful accessory is an external backup battery. Since the smart practice is only charging your iPhone/iTouch unless it is absolutely necessary, it’s possible the battery might die in less than perfect situations. Therefore, if you spend $30 more or less on an external battery, you never have to worry about your iPhone/iTouch completely dying. I have found that there are plenty of good external batteries, and they can just plug right into the bottom of your iPhone/iTouch, becoming an extension of the device. Lastly, many people find speakers a useful accessory for playing music. I have found that there are a lot of great speakers to fit any lifestyle. I personally like to use the wireless speakers, because I can take them with me to the beach or the park. However, if you plan on only needing a speaker for home, there are amazing plug-in AC-powered, or stationary speakers. The difference between stationary and their portable versions is typically stationary speakers have better sound quality, though that is not always the case.
