Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts to Fall Apart Why a Marriage is Not a Trophy

By: Patrick McQueen

Why Does Tenderness in a Marriage Appear to Clearly Fade away -

For the majority partners, this isn't intentional but often a outcome of a on the go chosen lifestyle resulting in short-term neglect, similar, while in a larger degree, to forgetting to water a beloved plant or feed a family dog. The heartbreaking part is that there are countless married young couples that recognize practically too late that their feelings for each other has all but dried up and their devotion has just about died. Luckily, most relationship can still be resuscitated with the appropriate attention and tending and with time the previous feelings of love can set out to grow for a second time.

Why a Marriage Should Never Be Treated Similar to a Trophy -

In this culture we have a tendency to put a high ranking priority on being the best, and we reward several of those accomplishments with trophies. The Vince Lombardi trophy for winning the Super Bowl and the Stanley Cup for hockey are illustrations. With this sort of consistent corroboration is there any question why a marriage isn't viewed in a related way.

I mean really think on all of the time and money spent on the dating ritual. The purchasing of meals, clothing, jewels, dining out, and hours talking with each other by way of phone, text, and email services that all leads up to the engagement ring, the "popping" of the question, and the excitement when she says yes. Talk about making the team!

This is before long followed by yet added work by both parties to make sure that no one backs out at the last instant. No surprise why after the last "I do" is said and the bouquet is thrown that the duo feels as if they have really gained a trophy!

But as I said, the marriage is really a out of the ordinary accomplishment for all parties involved but it should in no way be handled like a trophy because in doing so it marks the commencement of the conclusion for your marriage.

What Does That Indicate -

Well let's look into a few items. By the time most persons get married they have received quite a few real trophies in their life. Sport trophies, swimming trophies, even spelling trophies!

Their have been lots of small businesses sustained for decades whose full intent was to provide a physical thing with enough standing (with just a trace of distinctiveness) to make people compete against each other in hopes of one day acquiring it.

The irony of it all is no matter how significant the trophy is at the moment, even if it's the World Series trophy or that of a 12 year-old Little Leaguer they all have one thing in common--the shine in due course diminishes and they all end up amassing dust on some shelve wherever gathering intermittent looks and memory tugs, or worse, relegated to a dusty corner in an attic or basement.

You see, the underlying hassle for most young couples that have a "trophy" mentality is they have begun to think that because they labored so hard to obtain their marriage that they no longer need to labor to keep it. It's that mindset that makes one time great athletes fat and makes one time great marriages stale.

The fact of the matter is for a marriage to not just endure but to grow it has to be labored on constantly.

You see there's very little possibility that the high-school trophy that sits on your mantle piece will disappear. It will just sit there accumulating dust; nonetheless, a marriage relationship neglected too long will soon cease to exist!

So What Can Be Done -

It is most important to keep in mind that in order for any bond to go on it has to be dealt with like a living, growing, essential thing, and just like the living, it will only flourish with a lot of love and attention.

Alas, even with decent warning there will nevertheless be persons, that pledge to tend to their marriages tomorrow, who will look up one day from all that they assumed to be of great magnitude only to recognize their marriage is on its last leg--or worse! Then and only then will they go on a frantic hunt for somebody to resuscitate what on no account should have gotten sick.

Fortunately, there are people out there who have been through the same thing and are willing to lend a sympathetic ear, a helping hand, and knowledge gleamed from personal experience.
